Now I'm just about devistated.

This R33 GTS and it's owner, known by every car enthusiast around here, was at cars and coffee earlier this morning. Sadly, as he was leaving, and accident happened on the highway and he was involved. He's no longer with us, and his car is in pretty bad shape as well...So just send out prayers and what not to his family and the family of the other fatality in the wreck, they'll need it. I might make a Cars and Coffee post later.

No official story yet but from the pictures it looks like a BMW crashed into the ditch, he stopped to help, and an old VW bug rear ended his car which ended up hitting him and killing him.

I have an update. The R33 driver and the Beetle driver were actually on the side of the road first. Something happened to the Beetle and the R33 driver was trying to help. The Beetle driver and R33 driver were in between the Beetle and R33 when a Civic (not a BMW like originally thought) smashed into the Beetle and crushed them between their cars.

It keeps getting worse. That's awful. I wonder if the Civic driver was distracted by them on the side of the road of if the driver just wasn't paying any attention at all. Horrible. What city is this in?

I passed this accident on the interstate on the way home. I was giving a guy a ride home who said he knew the owner of the Skyline. We kinda optimistically assumed they would be okay—we talked about how his insurance would drop him. I feel like a shithead who wears rose-colored glasses now; I didn't even think that he could be dead.

I feel ya. When I first heard that there were two fatalities I automatically assumed it was the guy in the beetle and the guy in the Civic. I thought in no way that Jake could be dead...
